La Isla Concreta

EXPO CUBANOS 01

About

São Paulo, Brasil
02/09/2016 - 15/10/2016

Moments of political openness bring new possibilities for dialogue and knowledge to the world. That’s how it was with the end of the Soviet Union and the fall of the Berlin Wall, which allowed two different worlds to establish contact with their cultures. And so it is now, with the opening of Cuba to the world, as the public will be able to see, from September 2nd, at Dan Galeria, in the La Isla Concreta exhibition, which brings together, for the first time in Brazil, 31 works by 11 masters of Cuban concretism. Curated by Osbel Suarez, who was the curator of Reina Sofia, the exhibition will feature, at its opening, the launch of the book La Isla Concreta, narrating the trajectory of the artistic movement in Cuba and the artists who participated in it, many of whom are present in the seven first Art Biennials in São Paulo.
