Madrid, Spain, 1960

“Historically, since the discovery until today, the look of foreign artists who have already registered our Brazilian scene has been revealing images that surprise foreigners and the native.

The vision of the great Spanish artist and photographer, José Manuel Ballester, was no different. Born in Madrid in 1960 and graduated in Fine Arts, he incorporated photography into his artistic media and explores his machine as one who paints through the lens.

With his sensitivity, Ballester transforms not only the internal spaces of architecture, but also the exterior of buildings and urban landscapes, registering images full of mysteries and full of new content, even for those who habitually live in the places or cities photographed. ”
